Allscott Sugar Beet site development Planning Meeting

The Parish Council will be represented by its Clerk at the Borough Council’s Planning Committee meeting which is to be held on Monday 22nd June at The Place Oakengates at six o’clock.

Although speakers at the meeting will only be allowed three minutes to summarise their objections, the Parish Council’s full objection can be read here.

One of our local residents, Mr. Alan Orrell, has also lodged his objection to the planning process which can be seen here.

Today sees the publication, in the Shropshire Star, of a report of comments made by the Borough Council’s Chief Planning Officer, Michael Barker.

It may be useful to readers of this weblog to see the Parish Council’s original (2014) response to the initial planning application.

You can see the Parish Council’s original response to the Borough’s Responsible Planning Officer here:  Full objections from Wrockwardine Parish Council

The Parish Clerk attended the Planning Committee Meeting and gave a verbal representation to the Planning Committee: Allscott Sugar Beet Planning Committee Representation (2014) (unedited version).

The planning application has now been resubmitted and will once again be considered by the Borough Council’s Planning Committee.

Please Note

Wrockwardine Parish Council is NOT the Planning Authority; this is the function of The Borough Council. The view of the Parish Council does not carry any extra weight (over and above any other resident) nor is it guaranteed to be taken into account when any decision is made by the Borough Council. The Parish Council is simply invited, by the Borough Council, to give its views on planning applications. If a planning application affects you, or you have a view which you wish to be taken into consideration by the Planning Officers of the Borough Council then it is important that you convey that opinion directly to the relevant authority (which is Telford and Wrekin Council). The Parish Council is unable to “pass on” the views of others to the Planning Authority but it may take into account the views of residents of the Parish when deciding upon its own position on any particular application.
