Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd are planning to undertake Safety Examination of the Railway Bridge. The work is set to commence onWednesday, 20th June 2018 between 9am and 17.00pm and will last for a duration of 1 day with an end date of Wednesday, 20th June 2018. 

The diversion route for vehicular traffic travelling in all directions will be signed on site.

Appointment of Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer

A vacancy has occurred for a Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer to commence 1st October 2018.

For this varied position, candidates must be computer literate and have internet access.  Candidates ideally should have previous experience working as a Parish Clerk and/or have knowledge of local government, although training can be provided.  Candidates should be prepared to undertake continued development training throughout their period of employment and be prepared to study for the Certificate in Local Councils Administration.

The Clerk is responsible for preparing agendas, taking minutes, dealing with correspondence, liaising with contractors and local government officials, managing of accounts to include keeping of cash book, bank reconciliations, preparing budgets, VAT returns, PAYE, organising audits and the administration of the Parish Council website.  The successful candidate will be expected to be aware of, or to make themselves aware of, the requirements of the GDPR and to act as the Council’s Data Controller. The Clerk ensures correct procedures are followed and advises the Parish Council to ensure that it acts within its powers.  Training and ongoing professional development will be provided. The ability to communicate well at all levels is essential.

The salary is based on 20 hours per week and will be calculated according to the Nation Joint Council rates dependent upon qualifications and/or experience but will be within the range SCP 15 to 25 (LC1) (£17,972 – £23,111 pro rata), with mileage reclaimable at 0.45ppm.

Attendance is required at the Parish Council Meetings held alternatively at Wrockwardine Parish Hall and Admaston House on the second Wednesday of every month (except August) at 7:30 p.m. Other extraordinary meetings may be arranged as necessary throughout the year.

Gully replacement scheme on the B4394

The Borough Council will be carrying out a Gully replacement scheme on the B4394 between the vicinity of Meadow Drive and Walcot crossroads.  This scheme is planned for the 4th  June to the 7th June 2018, weather dependent.  The works will be completed by the Borough Council’s principal contractor Telford and Wrekin Services Ltd, who will be using their specialist sub-contractor Rhino Asphalt Solutions.  A system of two-way traffic lights will be in operation during the work.
